California offers some of the most iconic theme parks and world-famous wine regions in the world. Stretching from the Mexican border along the Pacific for nearly 900 miles, its terrain includes cliff-lined beaches, redwood forests, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Central Valley farmland (and wineries!), plus the Mojave Desert. The County of Los Angeles is home to Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world, and many film studios. San Francisco is famous for its cable cars, Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz Island.
San Diego is known as America’s Finest City, it has attractions for the entire family, including the San Diego Zoo, the museums of Balboa Park, a vibrant downtown, beautiful hikes of all skill levels, and more than 60 beaches. In combination with what is arguably the best weather in the country, it’s a place everyone can enjoy any time of the year.
The Inland Empire with its inviting destinations and uncrowded wilderness feels like an insider’s secret. You can hike Mount San Gorgonio, nicknamed “Old Grayback”, it’s the tallest peak in Southern California, at 11,502 feet. The region spans from the desert oasis of Palm Springs to the alpine scenery that surrounds Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear to the wineries of the Temecula Valley.
Head north to Los Angeles and spot a celebrity, sip a cocktail on a rooftop bar on the Sunset Strip, or ride around on a beach cruiser on the Venice and Santa Monica beach boardwalks. Take your Camper Van Rental to Disneyland or head over to Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and explore the backlots featured in some of the most memorable movies of the last century. Los Angeles has activities and attractions that make you feel like you are on top of the world.
Further north Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Monterey Bay, make up the four regions of the Central Coast. There, you’ll find everything you would expect from the California coast, miles of rocky shoreline, beaches ideal for swimming and surfing, and panoramic views of the Pacific. Drive your class B campervan inland to discover towering mountains, rolling wine country hills, and even desert-like landscapes.
Northern California puts on a spectacular show with the mighty Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe, and Yosemite National Park, home to some of the world's highest waterfalls. The tallest trees on the planet grow in Redwood and Sequoia National Parks and are an impressive sight to see. Lassen Volcanic National Park, along with 150 miles of hiking trails showcases all four types of volcanoes found in the world, shield, composite, cinder cone, and plug dome. Kings Canyon National Park has similar terrain to Yosemite Valley and is home to the deepest canyon in the United States at over a mile and a half deep. Finally, drive your campervan rental to San Francisco and visit the Golden Gate Bridge and visit Fishermans Wharf or Alcatraz Island.
